What a fabulous week!!

This past week... what a great week it was :)
And the cherry on top - Saturday!!!

Saturday was filled with activities that have been hitting the back burner
since May (yup, we moved here in May and not much
house oriented has occurred since then!)
Saturday we ...
* hung some pictures
* finished painting the back entry
* painted doors
* hung a few more doors
* attached a few door knobs
* mopped the kitchen floor (thanks, Courtney!!)
* put up a few other home decor items :)
What a great day it was - thanks Ben!

New little chicks arrived in the barn Friday afternoon so we checked them out Friday night!
Ranen, our animal lover, enjoyed it a lot - apparently
we will be visiting every new shipment from now on!!

These chicks are less then 24 hours old - 30,000 per floor!

It is a challenge for me to get good pictures in the chicken barns because the lighting is horrendous but at least some good memories are captured :)

Monday: Dancing a jig to our new nursery rhyme cd...

Tuesday: all mastered climbing onto the couch - and very proud about it!!

A picture with my mom!!!! :)  tickle/silly time!

Wednesday: hot tub time with Daddy and my new rubber duckies!
Great Opa and Oma Lindhout came over today, stayed for dinner and rummikub!

Thursday:  Oreo cookies... need I say anymore??  Just don't forget the bib! :)

Mommy went away Thursday night to hear the secondary presentations at school
which means Ranen gets spoiled at bed time!!

Love this...

Friday - the day we were blessed with another nephew/cousin!!  Welcome baby Tanner :)
Friday was also the chicks...

Here are a few pics I took from my mom's camera the other day :)

The 3 cousins...
(on the day that Cayden told everyone that he's going to be a big brother!)

Uncle Ivan and the munchkins!

Ranen crashed out in Opa and Oma's bed:

Well - time to get back to work :)  Enjoy the sun!!

It's a BOY!!

Meet Tanner Christopher :)

Looking so much like his daddy... this little boy makes my big brother a proud daddy for the second time.  Chris and his dear wife Richelle welcomed their 9lb 11oz boy at 1:25 this morning!!
A true joy :)

Enjoying great-grandma's hands... such a comfort!

Opa and Oma Lindhout                        and Richelle's Grandma

I had a doctor's appointment this morning so we decided to stop in and see Tanner :)  Ranen is in love with her new little cousin...  And is fascinated that he can blow bubbles and that he has a nose!!

One more picture of the big little guy :)  xo

Chris and Richelle (and Taycin) - wishing you much happiness and love
Congrats with your little one :)

Now Ben and I will need to find a new name ...
true story - this was our boy name too!!

Also, I just heard that I need to find a new doctor because my family doctor
will be done by the end of March - not great timing!!  xo

A great week!

Last week was great...
we accomplished so much and had some fabulous days

Now... last week in pictures :)

We spent some quality time 'playing' together...  this wooden puzzle is a much loved item right now (picked up for $1 at a kids swap 2 weeks ago!)  Ranen already knows every item on the puzzle!  She loves to learn and soaks everything in!
Daddy builds the BEST towers :)
... even Ranen knows - she sees this picture and says 'Daddy'

During Tuesday morning's wake up cuddles we got to watch a high-hoe load onto a trailer!  Much to Ranen's delight :)

On Tuesday Auntie Cathrine and Cayden came for work and Auntie Richelle and Taycin also stopped by!  We had fun - especially eating oreo cookies :) and seeing the puppies!
Yup, it was really good!

... just like Daddy!...

Thursday evening we handed out the calendars - a long awaited gift!

We started organizing family nights every other Thursday night - a GRAND idea!
Love being able to see everyone regularly :)

My Wednesday picture was taken on my phone (not too sure if I am able to get it from there to the computer!)  Ranen was allowed to go with Daddy in the big Xerion tractor all the way to the shop in Abbotsford... so much fun!
Friday, my camera was dead, but I still got a picture - it is on Ben's phone and will have to get it from him!  A great shot of Daddy/Ranen time - Ben tossing her onto fluffed up pillows/comforters on the bed!

Saturday we did some groceries and picked up some new nursery rhyme cds!! Yippee - we were getting so sick of the old one!!  Also picked up a new book at Verses - will let you know how it is when I am done reading it - might just be another one of those books that I share with EVERYONE!
(I'm kind of known for passing around 'the 5 love languages' because I just love the book
and think it is great!!  ... a benefit to read!)

Onto the next project on my list...  xo

Hugs & Kisses - I Heart Faces

A new challenge I wanted to enter - this picture right away came to mind!  What I really enjoy is how it captures the interaction between Ranen and Mia (the dog!).  To this version of the picture I tried some different processing...

Enjoy!

Done!!

At long last... our family calendar is done!!
It always seems I have a hard time getting my own 'work' done :)  Finally this week I cracked
the whip on myself and focused on the Lindhout family calendar!
We do a calendar from the beginning of February to the following January
just so that I have January to make the calendar
(...i know it wan't completed until Feb 16 - like usual ... fashionably late!)
let's hope that this is the first and last year it will be late!

We take a whole assortment of pictures from everyone throughout the past year
and mesh them all into one calendar!
A keepsake for all of us...
Even Ranen LOVES looking at it - like EVERYDAY!
If we walk by the calendar she usually points up and starts naming everyone :)

Last night, at family night, I gave everyone their copy of the calendar so now I can
share all the pages here!

February:
 March:
 April:
 May:
 June:
 July:
August:
 September:
 October:
 November:
 December:
 January 2013:

Then, I make all the date pages correspond to the top picture part of the calendar
with the same background, colour, font theme...
The calendar is then coil bound and ready to hang on our wall!
Thanks Corina for rushing here last night to help me finish them off - what a LOVELY surprise to get
your text: enroute with a crew of 1! :)

Please, leave a comment and let me know what your favourite page(s) is/are...
I would love to know! :)

Have a great day :) xo
